The firm

Local roofers. No nonsense.

Harrogate Roofing is a roofing firm based in Harrogate, run by the people who do the work, covering the district and the whole of Leeds. This page says who we are, what we stand behind, and what we will not do.

Why Harrogate

Because it is a town of roofs that deserve doing properly. Victorian and Edwardian villas around the Stray with steep Welsh slate, tall stacks and lead everywhere. Stone terraces up Harlow Hill and Cold Bath Road. The Duchy. 1930s semis in Bilton and Starbeck, 1970s estates at Jennyfield, executive homes out at Pannal Ash. Then the dale: stone slate cottages and farmhouses from Hampsthwaite up to Pateley Bridge, sitting in whatever the Pennines send over. A roofer who wants to do good work and be around to stand behind it could not ask for a better patch.

The people behind Harrogate Roofing have spent years on Yorkshire roofs for other firms, in Harrogate and across Leeds. Trading under our own name means doing the job the way we think it should be done, and putting our name to it.

What we stand behind

  • A free survey before any price: ladder, roof or drone, with the photographs sent to you.
  • An honest answer, including “leave it for now” when that is the truth.
  • An itemised written quote inside 24 hours of the visit, held for 90 days.
  • Turning up when we said we would, keeping the site tidy, and keeping you informed on longer jobs.
  • Materials that suit the building: reclaimed stone slate, Welsh slate, clay, concrete, and lead rather than tape.
  • A ten-year written workmanship guarantee handed over at sign-off.

What we will not do

  • Claim a founding year we do not have. The name is new. The experience behind it is not.
  • Show logos for trade schemes we have not joined.
  • Print reviews we have not received. When customers leave them, they go up; until then the site says so.
  • Talk you into a new roof when a repair is the right job.
  • Cap over rotten timber, flash with mastic, or lay a new flat roof over a wet deck.
  • Chase you. The survey is free and the decision is yours.

Insurance and paperwork

£5m public liability and £10m employer's liability, with certificates sent before we start if you want them. Every job gets photographs before, during and after, a written quote and a written guarantee. Landlords, insurers and solicitors can have whatever paperwork they need.

Where we work

Harrogate, Knaresborough, Starbeck, Bilton, Pannal, Killinghall, Oatlands and Harlow Hill are home ground. Ripon, Boroughbridge, Spofforth, Follifoot and the Nidderdale villages are a short run out. Wetherby and north Leeds are twenty to thirty minutes down the A61 or A661, and we cover every Leeds postcode from there, with an area page for each describing the housing and what its roofs tend to need.

See for yourself

Book a free survey. If the roof is fine, we will say so and you have lost nothing but ten minutes.
